The Property The gite at Les Blancs (the property) is offered for holiday rental accommodation, subject to confirmation by Robert and Veronica Potter (the Owners), to the Renter (the Guest).
Reservations & Payment Initial reservations may be agreed by email or telephone. The Owners will then e-mail a blank booking form to the Guest which should be completed and returned by e-mail to the Owners to confirm the reservation. Also payment of the initial non-refundable deposit (25% of the total rent due) should be made direct to the Owners bank account, details of which will be provided. Following receipt of the booking form and deposit, the Owners will send a booking confirmation either by post or e-mail. This is the formal acceptance of the booking. The balance of the total rental charge, together with the Security Deposit (see below) is payable not less than six weeks before the start of the rental period, direct to the Owners bank account. If payment is not received by the due date, the Owners reserve the right to give notice in writing or email that the reservation is cancelled. The Guest will remain liable to pay the balance of the rental unless the Owners are able to re-let the property. Reservations made within six weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment direct to the Owners bank account at the time of booking. All prices are shown in Sterling, but we are also happy to accept Euros by payment direct to the Owners bank accounts in the UK or France. If you wish to pay in Euros, please contact us for an exchange rate/price.
Security Deposit A refundable Security Deposit of £150 (200 euros) is required in case of damage or loss to the property or its contents. This is payable with the balance six weeks prior to the start of the rental period.The sum reserved by this clause shall not limit the Guests liability to the Owners. In the event that damage or loss is incurred during the rental period, the Guest will be advised prior to any refund. The Owners will refund any balance of the security deposit due (to the Guests bank account, details to be provided) within ten days of the end of the rental period.
Cancellations More than six weeks to rental period - loss of non- refundable deposit. Less than six weeks to rental period – a full refund will only be made if the owner can successfully re-let the gite, subject to a deduction of any additional costs involved.
Insurance The use of the accommodation, grounds, equipment, or other amenities at Les Blancs is entirely at the Guests own risk and the Owners accept no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to guests personally, their belongings or vehicles. Guests are strongly advised to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy, which provides cover for holiday cancellation, loss or damage to personal belongings, vehicle breakdown & recovery and public liability etc. Guests are reminded to bring their healthcare card EHIC (formerly E111) with them.
Rental Periods During July and August the gite will be let on a weekly basis, beginning and ending on a Saturday. Outside this period, there is flexibility both for arrival & departure days. Please see Rates & Availability, To ensure adequate time to prepare for the next Guest, arrival should be after 4pm and departure before 10.00am. The Owners shall not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the commencement time stated and the Guest shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the departure time stated. Please notify the Owners if the arrival time is likely to be after 11pm.
The maximum number of persons to reside in the gite must not exceed 9 (plus baby) unless the Owners have given written permission to the contrary. If the Owners have agreed a discounted price based on a lesser occupancy, the Guests must obtain the Owners permission to exceed the agreed occupancy.
Energy Normal use of gas, electricity and water are included in the rental charge for the gite. If heating is required at any time, electric radiators and wood are available at an additional charge.
Linen and cleaning equipment Beds will be made for week one. Bed linen required for a second week will be found in the wardrobe of each bedroom. A linen bin will be provided for used linen. Provided: For Double Rooms - Double duvet, four pillows, (1 duvet cover, 1 bottom sheet and 4 pillow cases per week). For Twin Rooms – Two single duvets, four pillows, (2 duvet covers, 2 bottom sheets and 4 pillow cases per week). Please inform the Owners of any special requests regarding bedding when booking. Tea towels and oven gloves will be provided for kitchen use. Hand towels are provided for the kitchen and bathroom. Larger towels for personal use are not provided, but can be hired in bales of 4 comprising 2 bath/shower towels + 2 pool/beach towels. Cost £6 or 9€ per bale.The Owners request that Guests do not use bleach products or anti-bacterial cleaners in the property. A selection of suitable items for the Fosse Septique, and other essentials will be provided.
Baby Equipment A child’s bed, travel cot, high chair and stair-gate are available free of charge on request. These items have been safety tested under French regulations and the Owners accept no responsibility or liability for any injuries incurred during their use. Please note that bedding for cots is not provided.
Other Equipment Four adult sized bicycles are available free of charge on request. The Owners will accept no liability for any injuries incurred during their use.
Consideration The Guest agrees to be a considerate tenant, to take good care of the property, all furniture, appliances and other items supplied with it and to leave it and the said items in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. The Owners reserve the right to make a deduction from the security deposit, to cover additional cleaning costs if the Guest leaves the property in an unacceptable condition. The Owners offer an optional Departure Cleaning Service. This service does not cover kitchen items, cooker, wood burners, or the barbecue. These remain the responsibility of the Guest. The Guest agrees not to act in any way that would cause disturbance to the residents in neighbouring properties. Guests are asked not to smoke inside the gite. Thank you for your consideration. Sorry but Guests pets are not allowed. Please note that the Owners pets and other animals will be on site.
Breakages/Breakdowns The Guest shall report to the Owners without delay, any defects or breakdown of equipment, machinery or appliances within the property or grounds. Arrangements for their repair or replacement will be made as soon as possible. The Owners shall not be liable to the Guest: a) For any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property or grounds. b) For any loss, damage or injury, which is the result of adverse weather conditions, flood, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond the control of the Owners. c) For any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Guest, if the property is destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period. In any such event, the Owners shall, (where possible), within 14 days of notification to the Guest, refund to the Guest all sums previously paid in respect of the hire period. d) Under no circumstances shall the Owners liability to the Guest exceed the amount paid to the Owners for the rental period.
