Les Blancs Holiday Home, Self Catering Cottage/Gite, Family Holiday Accommodation
The Property We, the owners, Robert & Veronica Potter, offer the gite at Les Blancs, the holiday cottage or property, for holiday rental accommodation, subject to confirmation by us to you, the guest.
Reservations & Payment Initial reservations may be made by e-mail, or telephone. We will then e-mail a blank booking form to you, which should be completed and returned to us by e-mail, to confirm the reservation request. Payment of the initial non-refundable deposit (25% of the total rent due) should be made direct to our bank account, details of which will be provided, after our receipt of the booking form and acceptance of the request for holiday accommodation. Following receipt of the booking form and deposit, we will send you confirmation of the booking. This is the formal acceptance of the booking. The balance of the total rental charge, together with the Security Deposit (see below) is payable not less than six weeks before the start of the rental period, direct to our bank account. If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to give notice in writing, or e-mail, that the reservation is cancelled. You will remain liable to pay the balance of the pre-agreed rental period. Reservations made within six weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment direct to our bank account at the time of booking. All prices are shown in sterling & euros.
Security Deposit A refundable Security Deposit of £150€ is required in case of damage, or loss to the property or its contents. This is payable with the balance six weeks prior to the start of the rental period. The sum reserved by this clause shall not limit your liability to us.In the event that damage or loss is incurred during the rental period, you will be advised prior to any refund. We will refund any balance of the security deposit due, to your bank account (details to be provided), within ten days of the end of the rental period.
Cancellations More than six weeks to rental period - loss of non- refundable deposit. Less than six weeks to rental period - a refund (subject to a deduction of any additional costs involved), will be made, only if we can successfully re-let the gite,
Insurance The use of the accommodation, grounds, equipment, or other amenities at Les Blancs is entirely at your own risk and we accept no responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage - to you personally, your belongings, or vehicles. You are strongly advised to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy, which provides cover for holiday cancellation, loss or damage to personal belongings, vehicle breakdown & recovery and public liability etc. We advise U.K. guests to bring your healthcare cards EHIC (formerly E111) with you.
Rental Periods During July and August the gite will be let on a weekly basis, beginning and ending on a Thursday. Outside this period, there is flexibility both for arrival & departure days. Please see Rates & Availability, To ensure adequate time to prepare for the next guests, arrival should be after 4pm and departure before 10.00am. We are not obliged to offer the accommodation before the commencement time stated and you will not be entitled to remain in occupation after the departure time stated. Please notify us if your arrival time is likely to be after 10pm.
Accommodation - Agreed Occupancy The maximum number of people to occupy and use the gite's facilities at any time must not exceed 9 (plus baby) - unless we have given permission, written or otherwise, to the contrary. When booking the gite for adults, it would be helpful if you could tell us in advance how many single and double beds you will require. We will be happy to prepare the downstairs sofa bed for you if you make a special request to us before your arrival. N.B. There may be an additional charge if the downstairs sitting room is used as an extra bedroom.
Energy Normal use of gas, electricity and water are included in the rental charge for the gite. If heating is required at any time, electric radiators and firewood are available at an additional charge.
Bed Linen and Towels - please tell us of any special requests regarding bedding when booking. Per Double Room - double duvet, duvet cover, bottom sheet, 4 French style square pillows, 4 pillow cases. Per Twin Room - 2 single duvets, 2 duvet covers, 2 bottom sheets, 4 French style square pillows, 4 pillow cases. For Two Week Bookings - a change of bed linen will be supplied at your request - *see notes below. The Sofa Bed in the front ground floor sitting room of the gite is for use as a sofa only. If you need to use this as an extra bed, please make a special request to us before you arrive. Tea towels and oven gloves are provided for kitchen use. Hand towels are provided for the kitchen and bathroom. Larger towels for personal use are not provided, but can be hired in bales of 4 comprising 2 bath/shower towels + 2 pool/beach towels.
Notes: A washing machine is provided in the gite for the washing of clothes and other small items. *You should not need to wash any of the bedding that we have provided for your stay. We have plenty of extra bedding in readiness if it is required - please ask. We do not expect you to wash the gite towels or tea towels, unless you need to do so for your own use. We have spare seat pads for the dining chairs - please do not attempt to wash them yourself, as they could shrink. Two linen bins are situated on the first floor landing for used gite linen and towels. The gite linen is thoroughly laundered by us in our own machines at the end of each letting period.
Cleaning equipmentPlease do not use UK toilet paper, bleach products, or anti-bacterial cleaners in the property - examples of suitable items for the fosse septique, and other essentials are provided.
End of Stay Cleaning Service We offer an optional end of stay clean, which enables you to enjoy the last day of your holiday without having to clean before you go. This service includes the cleaning of all cupboards, rugs, floors and surfaces, cleaning of sinks and showers in the bedrooms, cleaning of all bathroom items, the cleaning, tidying and re-positioning (if necessary) of furniture etc. in each room, stripping of all beds, the collection of dirty linen and towels from all rooms, the emptying and cleaning of both fridge-freezer and dishwasher, and the cleaning and re-positioning of all garden equipment. The service does not cover the toilets and kitchen equipment, as we would expect these items to be cleaned regularly during the rental period.
Baby Equipment A child's bed, travel cot, high chair and stair-gate are available free of charge on request. These items have been safety tested under French regulations and we accept no responsibility or liability for any injuries incurred during their use. Please remember that linen and bedding for cots is not provided. Please ensure that the cot and high chair are thoroughly cleaned and in a usable condition for the next guests.
Other Equipment Four adult sized bicycles are available free of charge on request. One is fitted with a removable baby seat (purchased in 2008 & for children up to 22kilos). We also offer a trailer free of charge, suitable for 2 children. (See picture in Photo Gallery) Please treat them with care, so that they are in a good condition for guests who come after you. We accept no liability for any injuries incurred during their use.
Breakages/Breakdowns Please let us know, without delay, if there are any defects or breakdown of equipment, machinery or appliances within the property or grounds. We will arrange for repair, or replacement as soon as possible. Please also inform us of any breakages as soon as possible, so that we can replace the items before the next guests arrive. We cannot accept liability for: a) Any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property or grounds. b) Any loss, damage or injury, which is the result of adverse weather conditions, flood, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond our control. c) Any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by you if the property is destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period. In any such event we will (where possible) refund all sums previously paid by you in respect of the rental period within 14 days of notifying you. d) Under no circumstances shall our liability to you exceed the amount paid to us by you for the rental period.
Consideration You agree not to act in any way that would cause a disturbance to residents in nearby properties. You also agree to take good care of the property, all furniture, appliances and other items supplied with it and to leave everything in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period (just as you found it). We reserve the right to make a deduction from the security deposit for any breakages and to cover additional cleaning costs if the property is left in an unacceptable condition.. Please do not smoke inside the gite - thank you. Sorry, but your pets are not allowed at Les Blancs - please note that our pets and other animals will be on site.
